Controller
Nathaniel Walser Gaiserau 39 9056 Gais, Switzerland Email: swissrelief@nathaniel-walser.com Phone: +41 78 818 40 69
The operator is the controller for the processing of personal data on this website within the meaning of the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (revFADP) and, where applicable, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
What we collect
When you place an order: name, shipping address, email address, and the design parameters of your relief. When you sign in: your email, display name, and (with Google sign-in) profile photo, plus every design you save to your account. When you contact us: the content of your message and your contact details. When you visit the site and consent to it: pseudonymised error-telemetry events (see "Error telemetry" below).
Hosting & authentication (Google Firebase)
The website and its backend (database, sign-in, file storage, server functions) run on Google Firebase, operated by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. Firebase processes server logs (IP address, user agent, timestamps), stores your account credentials when you sign in, and holds your saved designs and orders. Google may transfer data to the United States; Google relies on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and Standard Contractual Clauses.
Error telemetry (Firebase Analytics)
If you accept the cookie banner, we forward uncaught client-side errors (the error message and a short stack-trace excerpt, truncated to 500 characters) to Firebase Analytics as "exception" events. This helps us spot and fix bugs. No marketing profile is built and no advertising identifiers are used. If you decline, the handler is not installed and no events are sent.
Payment (Stripe)
Payments are processed by Stripe Payments Europe, Limited, 1 Grand Canal Street Lower, Grand Canal Dock, Dublin, Ireland. When you check out, the data you enter (name, billing address, payment method) is transmitted directly to Stripe. We never see or store full payment-card numbers. Stripe is a separate controller for the processing it performs; see https://stripe.com/privacy for details.
Shipping (Swiss Post / DHL)
To ship your order we share your name and delivery address with the carrier (Swiss Post or DHL, depending on destination). The carrier processes this data to deliver the parcel.
Cookies and local storage
We use the browser's local storage to remember your cart contents, preferred language, unit preference, configurator state, and your cookie-consent choice. Firebase Auth additionally sets a session cookie / IndexedDB entry to keep you signed in. We do not set marketing or cross-site tracking cookies. See the separate Cookie Policy for details.
Map and geocoding services
The configurator loads map tiles from OpenStreetMap, elevation data from Mapzen/AWS, land-cover data from GLC_FCS30D, and uses Nominatim/OSM for address search. When you use the map, your IP address is exposed to those services as part of the request. We do not log map queries on our side.
Retention
Order data is kept for 10 years to comply with Swiss accounting and tax retention rules. If you delete your account, your orders remain in our books but the link to your user id is removed so they can no longer be associated with you. Contact-form messages are kept for as long as needed to handle the request, and then deleted. Saved designs live in your account until you delete them — either individually on the Designs page or by deleting your account. Error-telemetry events are retained by Firebase Analytics according to Google's published retention policy (default 14 months).
Your rights
Under Swiss revFADP and EU GDPR you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, you may export your data in a portable format, and you may withdraw consent at any time. The Your Data Rights page lists each right and how to exercise it. Signed-in users can export and delete their data directly from the Account page. EU residents may lodge a complaint with their supervisory authority. Swiss residents may complain to the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC).
To exercise any of these rights manually, write to swissrelief@nathaniel-walser.com.
